Allergy Care - Nickel

Nickel is usually mixed with other metals to make costume jewellery, clothes fasteners such as hooks and zips, pens and handles etc.

The most common reaction to a nickel allergy is a skin rash or contact dermatitis/eczema.

The best way to limit the symptoms is to avoid exposure wherever possible, eg, avoid costume jewellery, choose clothes that have a plastic coating over zips or plastic buttons etc.
