Allergy Epidemic May Start In the Womb

A new study that has been launched in Canada is aiming to prove whether the environment of expectant mothers is responsible for the dramatic rise in cases of allergy and asthma in young children.

These days, new parents are more obsessed than about protecting their children.  But what if their immediate environment is what is harming the child? Researchers will the lives of 5,000 pregnant women, tracking their genes, nutrition, stress levels, air quality where they live and work, pets and dust in their homes. The women and their families will be questioned for five years or more, once the child is born.
