An allergy jab on the way
A jab that could help those suffering with hayfever, asthma and eczema could be available within a few years. It's being claimed that the "one size fits all" injection could help ward off multiple allergies and make the lives of many thousands of people more bearable and give them a better quality of life.
A recent trial of asthmatic sufferers showed that the jab cut asthma attacks or symptoms by a third and in another trial on allergy sufferers an injection every week over a month and half, cut the amount of runny noses and weepy eyes by almost 39 per cent. There's hope that the first large scale clinical trial will start next year with a vaccine being available within a few years. |
