Make-up for my wedding day - Diana, Farnham, UK

I posted about needing make up and skin care solutions for my upcoming wedding on 8th June. A few people wrote from the list, which was kind. I thought you might like to know also that, in the end, I found that sourcing items from different ranges in the high street helped. I got my basic skincare from Origins, using their ranges for sensitive and dry skins. I bought the foundation and some items to help my skin remain moisturised all day from Sisley of Paris and I sourced my eye make up from Clinique. Sisley and Clarins eye shadows and also Sisley's eye cream seemed to bring up the allergy symptoms of eczema in and around my eyes - a swelling feeling, dryness, itchiness or burning and weeping, depending on the product. But Clinique's eye make up - no problem! The whole event really made me look into care for my facial eczema again, after having reached a point of having more or less given up. I realise that I will probably always have the same troubles with it but at least it has made me feel confident for my big day to find some items that work, at least for now (I never know how long!). What I have definitely learned is that persisting exfoliating my skin, with a mild product, is a good thing. I now believe it is worth paying a lot more for make up that really feels comfortable. The Sisley products were very pricey but I have never worn make up before that feels so comfortable on my skin. Their products, I have discovered, are designed with people with sensitive skins in mind. (May 2002)
